"reading is a longer and morecomplicated process than seeing" virginia woolf had figuredout the reason long ago.thiscan be regardedasdegeneration. are wejust too busy to read? nope. enjoying tvor movie is a passiveprocess of recieving information and in turn does not requiremuchmental work.thus we areapt to get entertainedinthis more relexedway. howeverwhen moving oureyes away fromthe screen, nothing is left in ourminds.what do we miss? we trade those wonderfuldetailsin the books fora relaxed feeling.i read the whole book of DAVINCI CODE.-----thefirst time that i actually finish a novel.itlasted foralong time but i found it more exciting and inspiring than seeing amovie in two hours.yet reading is far from enough.virginia woolf wrote :the quickest way to understand the elements of whata novelist is doing is not to read but to write.i cant agree more.by engaging oneself inwriting , one goes into an adventureinthe "difficultiesand dangers of words" so that he can better appreciatethework of the author. the same istruein watchinga football game. boys who play footballin real lifeenjoy the excellentskills of theplayerswhile girls who never play football fix their eyes onthe handsomefaces andmoves.my point is :young people, youshould read and write!
