1. Input the commandin "Terminal" window: sudo pppoeconf
2. Press "Yes" to forward
"ENTERUSERNAME", then input your account number
"ENTERPASSWORD", then input your password
3. Done!

Added: When settingthe Great WallDSL, it will change the networkproperity in Ubuntu. And PC can not work in LAN in office. Have notfound the right step tp set right LAN connection. Need laterinvestigation.

补充：在设置完长城宽带后，Ubuntu中的网络属性会改变。当连接计算机到局域网中，不能工作。暂时还没有找到正确的修改局域网步骤。需要进一步研究。

Annie added in June15, 2010: No need pppoeconf command if you used Ubuntu with GRUB.You can choose DSL settings in Network Manager. "System-> References -> Network Connections-> DSL -> Add"

1. Add your DSLaccount name in "DSL -> Username"

2. Add accountpassword to "DSL -> Password"

3. Fill in "Wired-> MAC Address", you can find MACAddress with more than two ways,

amand "ifconfig -a", "HWaddr" is MAC Address

b."System -> Administration -> NetworkTools -> Network Device -> EthernetInterface (eth0)", you can find "Hardware Address" is MACAddress

4. Choose "automatic"for "Wired -> MTU"

5. "IPV4 Settings-> Method" choose "Automatic (PPPoE)"

6. Choose "Connect automatically", each time restartPC, the wired DSL will work.
